About us

The Grove House vision

At Grove House we believe everyone affected by cancer or life-threatening illness has the right to access specialist care to have the best possible quality of life.

We know there are some gaps. To fill these gaps and ensure everyone who needs it has the support that is right for them, we will work proactively with patients, families and other healthcare professionals.

We recognise that each person has different needs, so we adapt our range of high quality services to give support to both at Grove House and at home.

Grove House care

Every week Grove House offers over 150 treatments and consultations to patients, their families and carers at Grove House or at home.  All services are free of charge. Each patient's care is tailored to his/her own needs, for example pain reduction/symptom control from the specialist nurses, help with mobility from the physiotherapist or occupational therapist, or spiritual or emotional support and counselling from the spiritual care and family support team. We also provide respite support and counselling for carers who can become overwhelmed or exhausted and rarely receive any support themselves. Above all Grove House is about valuing life. Read more about our services here.

Funding & how you can help

Grove House relies on local charitable support to fund 80% of our core services. Some 20% comes from the local NHS. You can read more about how you can support us here. You can read a summary of our annual accounts here.
