Clinical Services
A large team of dedicated volunteers contribute in many ways to the running of Grove House and are an essential part of its success. There are lots of different roles some working directly with patients and some in more of a support role.
Many benefits can be gained from voluntary work: the chance to do something worthwhile for your local community, learn new skills, gain experience for your CV, and meet new people.
We recognise that volunteers are busy people with lives outside Grove House. Many of the volunteer roles work on a rota system and we will try to be as flexible as possible. If you have a few hours to spare once a week, or even once a fortnight, we would like to hear from you.
All of our volunteers undertake a short induction course that encourages them to feel confident to undertake the tasks involved. They also spend some time working along side a more experienced team member before they start and further ongoing training is provided, where appropriate.
There are over thirty different roles. Here are some of them:
- Day Hospice volunteers
- Arts and Crafts volunteers
- Drivers
- Receptionists
- Flower arrangers and gardeners
- Family support counsellors
- Home sitting and bereavement visitors
