Midnight Walkers don't forget your sponsorship money
It is now almost two weeks since that warm summer's night when nearly 1000 people took to the streets in pink ears and fairy wings to take part in the Grove House Midnight Walk. On the night the walkers pledge to raise just over £60,000 for the hospice.
The sponsorship money has now started coming into the hospice and will be used to help fund the wide range of services provided by Grove House Hospice including the new Hospice at Home Service.
The organisers are very much hoping that to exceed last year's grand total of over £80,000.
As an added incentive any Midnight Walker who raises or donates over £100 will be entered into a prize draw to win some fabulous prizes including an annual family pass to Willows Farm, a £150 voucher from The Dressing Room and a case of wine donated by Honeycomb Research.
Paul Parrish Fundraising Director at Grove House said, "The Midnight Walk is a very special event and this year was no exception. In the current climate it is imperative that our major fundraising events help us reach our overall target of raising £1.5 million." He went on to add the hospice only receives 20% of its funding from the Government which is why the continued support of the local community is so important.
Midnight Walkers can either send in their donations by post or donate online at www.midnightwalk.org
The 2011 Midnight Walk will take place on Saturday 25 June 2011.
