Sopwell steps out for Grove House
The Walkathon, an annual event now in its fifth year, took place earlier this month in the hotel's country club. Entrants walked, strolled or ran for twenty four hours to raise over £1,400 for Grove House, exceeding last year's amount by an amazing £600.

Local Estate Agent, Martin Treasure, spoke of the work of the hospice and the services they offer to support local people living with cancer and life threatening illness, both at Grove House and at Home.
Philip Cox, the Hotel's General Manager and other members of the team kept up the momentum during the early hours of the morning. The members of the Country Club and Saracens rugby team also took turns to help cover a distance of over 135 kms and burn a total of almost 8000 calories.
Charles Morgan, Group Operations Director, Sopwell House Hotel Country Club & Spa supported the event, as he does every year and took part, running the final hour. He said, "Sopwell House and its members are extremely proud to be able to support Grove House, and particularly in these difficult economic times to increase our contribution to them this year, by the extent that we have been able to do, shows huge dedication from all those taking part and supporting the cause."
During the evening country club members and guests were invited to a complimentary Cheese and Wine evening and raffle kindly sponsored by Sopwell House.
