Cancer the Next Step programme

What is Cancer the Next Step ?

Cancer the Next Step is an eight-week facilitated information-giving programme for cancer patients who have been diagnosed within the past 18 months and have a good prognosis. The programme is for people between 18 and 60 years and is not restricted by catchment area.

The aim of Cancer the Next Step is to enable people to cope with their diagnosis and to resume as nearly as possible a normal lifestyle.

In the mornings there are talks on a variety of topics such as diet & nutrition and coping strategies, which is followed by a chance for discussion and to ask questions.

In the afternoons there is time to discuss individual needs, have a complementary therapy session and participate in art, craft and music activities.

When is Cancer the Next Step held ?

There are three programmes a year, held every Monday for 8 weeks at Grove House. The day starts at 10am and closes at 3pm.

How much does it cost ?

There is a nominal charge of £3 payable on the day and this includes a light lunch and tea & coffee.
