Physiotherapy
The Physiotherapist at Grove House works using a range of treatment techniques to restore movement to patients who may have mobility problems linked with their illness. Both Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy promote, maintain and restore physical, psychological and social well-being through a rehabilitation approach.
The service is available from Tuesday to Friday, via the Outpatient Service, the Day Hospice or at Home.
Treatment is offered if you have one or more of the following:
- Mobility or functional problems
- Pain, weakness or soft tissue injury
- Altered posture or movement
- Fatigue/tiredness
- Breathing problems
- Lymphoedema
A variety of skills may be used to help maximise independence, including:
- Pain management
- Exercise programmes
- Relaxation techniques
- Breathing re-education
- Pacing of activities
- Provision of mobility equipment
- Advice and education for you and your carers
