The HLP story
In 1997, Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity in Aylesbury, along with Iain Rennie Hospice at Home in Tring and the South Bucks Hospice in High Wycombe, founded The Hospice Lottery Partnership to help raise additional funds.
The Hospice Lottery has become hugely successful and has since welcomed four more local hospices to the partnership. Michael Sobell House in Northwood, Thames Hospicecare in Windsor, The Hospice of St Francis in Berkhamsted and of course Grove House in St Albans, joined the partnership in 2007.
To date we have received over £126,000. A tremendous contribution to the running costs of Grove House.
'The income received from The Hospice Lottery Partnership will help us to expand our services and launch our 24 hour Hospice at Home Service, so that patients who become too ill to come to the hospice can be cared for in the comfort of their own homes.' Mark Lister, Chief Executive of Grove House.
Look out ? Peter's about
Peter Tarbox, The Hospice Lottery's latest recruit is helping to raise even more funds with his membership 'road show' campaign. He will be visiting Sainsbury's in St Albans and London Colney as well as Marks & Spencer in London Colney plus many more supermarkets, shopping centres, high streets and garden centres throughout the counties of Hert's, Beds, Bucks and Middlesex, representing all the partner hospices and inviting new members to join the weekly draw.
If you see him at your local store please give him some support and say hello!
